a lovey day

lovey day(s) started on Thursday with my Moms Club valentines party. I didn't take any pix of the moms and the kids- i'm still new there and didn't wanna bust out my camera, but i did get a pix of some of the treats lukey got and the welcome bag for me...
then on the eve of the Lovey Day Lukey-bear and papa brought me a rose, a card, and a gigantic bar of my favorite chocolate... On the officially Lovey Day we weren't really planning on doing anything, but we did get a chance to play while Grandma Mia watched the Luke....
we got to skate!
I wanted to skate here:
but then i saw this post:
so instead of breaking the law, we skated across the huge empty parking lot and still had lots of fun being silly!

what a lovey day!
i loved spending time with the papa and skating around. i'm very thankful for him and for my lukey bear and most of all for the sweet baby Jesus who blesses us always!

lukey bear!

i just wanted to share some pictures of lukey bear!
here he is under the stool. he was crawling around chasing his ball and it rolled under it and then he propped himself up and started to eat it!
here he is with his cousin tay just lounging around...
he likes to do this new thing- he discovered he can twist his tongue and put on one side...
music and singing make the lukey bear soooo happy...
it makes him clap and dance and put his arms up!
i love him!

busy momma's

Stay at home momma's aren't meant to just "stay-at-home." =)
My sis and I have been looking into MOPS. We found one in Chino and I think we may be joining that one. MOPS is a Christian-based mommy-and-me type of thing where kids go to the nursery or their Moppets activities while the mommies fellowship and have breakfast, hear a message or do a craft together, and other events during the month. My sis and i wanna check out the MOPS at Glenkirk in Glendora too.

I've also been looking into MOM's Club- Glendora East, to be specific! This is a non-profit organization where mommies get together in their community to hang out, do activities, playdates, and community service projects together, etc. This organization is not Christian-based, which is perfect because it's been on my heart to be connected with and be a light to non-Christian momma's. I went to my first meeting today and it was quite interesting. It's definitely tough being the new person coming into an already established group of people. They seem nice and I figure I'll give it a go and pray that the Lord uses me to be a light and to share with them!

we've also been looking into story times at different venues- like the Barnes & Noble at the Shoppes and in Glendora and at the local libraries. Those have been fun!

Being around a lot of mommies is fun. It's great to be able to share our up's and down's of motherhood!- and it's better than galavanting all over the place spending money or just being cooped up at home everyday!-it's a good way to change it up a little! As much as I completely enjoy being at home with Lukey- I must say that not every day is easy or fun- it's quite the full-time job where you're paid with hugs and kisses!

new foods= new tastes

so since lukey is a big boy now and has hit the 8 month mark he can start having "real" foods. he's been eating stage 2 foods for awhile now and some stage 3. i started giving him pieces of :
whole wheat bagels= thunbs up!
eggs= not so much yet
bananas mashed= thumbs up!
fettuccini noodles minus the chix n broc= ok

since he only likes the bagels and bananas so far- i've decided to get more of the stage 3 graudate and toddler foods. i wanted to avoid this so that i wouldn't have to buy it but i think lukey needs a better transition. unless someone else has other ideas?! and praise God I am still nursing him!

i love how much he is growing and changing and how i get to be at home with him and watch it all! sooooo glad i'm home and so thankful for God's provisions, daily! =)

guitar baby!

Lukey absolutely LOVES the guitar! he always crawls over to it and starts "strumming" the strings and also beats it like a drum! I wish I could capture how big his smile really is especially when i play it for him- he scrunches up his nose and has the biggest cheese smile and the happiest face ever! he gets so excited and bounces up and down and sometimes even claps!
hmmm maybe God has something in store for lukey with music.....
it totally warms and blesses my heart and it keeps me praying for His plan for little Lukey =)

sandy beach baby

Today we headed out to the beach again to enjoy yet another sunny & warm day!
We let lukey go all over the sand and it turns out... he LOVES the sand!

he couldnt keep his little paws off of the wet sand and he kept crawling all over it
he even wrote out his own name! =)
look at his BIG smile!

he loves mama
and papa too... he can't wait to take him in the water for some surfing and swimming once it gets warmer

sandy toes

and eventually the clothes came off!

mama & papa were so excited at lukey's excitement! he had so much fun!

big boys rock out!

today Lukey turned 8 months old!
he likes to stand. he tries to pull himself up a lot. sometimes he's successful, but other times mama has to help him out a little.
maybe lukey is gonna be a musician....
he crawled from one end of the room all the way to this guitar
then he started to strum it and also hit it like a drum
see mama? i can play!
the other day we went on a walk to the park with auntie and cousins and he fell asleep
Luke-Luke is growing up fast! I thank God for 8 months already and that I get to enjoy time with him at home. Hmmm... maybe, he will be a musician or worship leader of some sorts! =)

first sunny park day in '09

You gotta love california for having a sunny & warm day in January! We couldn't help but take advantage of it so we headed to the nearby park!

Here's Luke's first time on the swings solo! He loved it at first but then.... he got a little too relaxed...
and curled up into a cute little ball...
then, mama and lukey tried out the little slide first...
since that went okay, we tried the big twisty slide afterwards
then papa and lukey tried out the big swings together...
then mama & lukey tried out the skate (look at his funny expression!)
then the boys tried it.... yay big boy!

we wanted him to skate on his own but papa wouldn't let go....
then papa tried to let lukey stand on his own....
we had such a fun time at the park! can't wait for more warm & sunny days because warm & sunny days=outdoor play days!

2009 fun with the Lukey!

Luke started the year off already crawling! I cant believe he's crawling, it's so cute! he makes his way all over the place, going after all his little toys. he's so curious too!

Luke also started us off by driving us to our little play day

okay, okay, his papa helped drive us!
lukey and papa drove us to newport to cruise along the boardwalk. Papa pushed luke in the stroller while mama skated alongside, but it was freeeeezing so that didn't last quite long and we headed back in the car to one of mama's favorite spots that overlooks the harbor....

we plopped down one of the benches to capture a few shots:

and then today mama and lukey did a little skating by the house...
We can't wait for more fun times with the new year with Luke learning new things and trying out different activities like mommy and me groups, music and ministry, skating and surfing and teaching luke more and more about sweet baby Jesus! =)
oh ya... i caught a couple of sweet shots in the skyline...
enjoy!
