skateboardin, talkin bear!

bear really can talk! and really does know his colors SOOO i tried to get him to tell me some crayon colors in the video above! he did good, but he usually does better at just saying what the colors are- either when he picks them up, or when i show him and ask him what color it is, or when i tell him to get me a certain color.. really he does know! =)

and in this video- bear LOVES skateboarding! he loves the little skateboard and he loves the "real" longboard skateboard, but this video is waaaaaay funnier than him on a regular skate! silly bear!

Field trip to the Fair!

Last Friday we went on a field trip to the Fair with our Mommy & Me class!

the Fair was open only to schools/groups so it was a madhouse filled with only kids! ahh!

and it was sooooo hot that we didn't even last till lunch!

the bear and his cousins saw lots of barn animals and went into the little exhibits!

nite nite routine

it's so cute to see how much the bear is learning and growing and how much he is remembering.

he remembers how our nite-nite/before bed routine goes.

first brush teeth

then bath

then lotion and pajammies

then prayer time

papa usually sits on the floor with a pillow behind him while he leans on the couch

and the last few nights bear has beat him to his spot

and he goes over there

sits and puts his hands together and says "pray"

we'll keep his attention for o-like a few minutes only

before he decides he wants to look at the pictures in one of his bibles

he's been facinated lately with his bible that has a plush Noah and the ark on the cover.

bear likes to look at the pictures and tries to remember and say the names

lately he's been saying "jonah"

then he usually climbs on/off the couch

jumps off

grabs his paci

makes sure we are behind with his stuffed lion and giraffe

and he runs to his room

hugs and kisses

then nite-nite!

oh what a little blessing!

colors!

bear and i have been going over his crayon colors for awhile now

or at least everytime he says he wants to "color" or that he wants his "crayons"

and i usually point to the crayons and tell him which is which

or he'll point to them when i ask

but today papa was holding all the crayons

and i asked him to bring me a color

and he did!

and i did it with all the crayons!

and he did it!

then i laid them out all togther and asked him

"where's the ____ crayon?"
or

"what color is that?"

and he KNEW!!

what a growing boy!

bear at school...

today bear and mama went to school (with auntie and cousins too). mommy and me school started last friday but since bear was sick- today was our 1st day! it's a program done through the pomona adult ed dept, but the classes are held in diamond bar. it's a 0-5yr class. they do crafts, circle/share time, snacks, outside play, and it ends with music time- a whooping 3 hours!

it's a great time for the kids to interact with one another and learn and it's also great time to meet new mommies/friends!

(oh ya and i met a mommy who adopted a little boy from- Kyrgyzstan!!!! i overheard her telling another mom and then i interrupted and told her i lived there doing mission work! i cant to talk with her more!)

16 months!

happy 16th month birthday bear!!!

bear went to his 16th month appt. today.

he got a flu shot and a couple of his immunizations.

he's a teeny bit under weight for his

height which is 31 1/2 inches long

and he is just under 20lbs.

i think it had to do with him being sick all last week and not eating much.

nonetheless his pediatrician says to give him more food!

only problem is- he's SO picky!

oh and as of yesterday- no more night time nursing- it's bittersweet! =)

cousin tay heard that bear was sick and wanted to pray for him and make him some cards!

grandma brought them over today. the bear was soooo excited when she said it was from taylor and that it had stickers!

sick bear...

poor bear... on monday he got sick- high fever and a barking-like cough... and yup- turns out he has croup (an inflammation in his throat somewhere).... we ended up taking him to the ER last night(tues) and they gave him oxygen, did some chest x-rays, and prescribed some medicine. praise God because this morning(wed) he did NOT wake up with a high fever. he was still warm, but not like the last few days.

oh and wednesday night i think papa and mama get the unofficial award of shame for pulling a "first-time parents" move... ugh. in short- the bear has been sick and last night he totally flipped out and wigged out before bed like crazy! crying non-stop for about half an hour and stiffening and arching and everything! and it was making his breathing and coughing worse. we did NOT know what to do! prayed yes, but we still flipped out too... sooo.. yup, we did it.... we called 911... i know! ok so they checked him out and they said he was ok for the most part, but were unable to take him to the hospital we go to.. so we opted to not ride with them. we drove on our own and I called bears dr for some advice, drove to the ER AND guess what?! yup.... he stopped crying, stopped flipping out and was talking and playing ... and so there we were- puzzled and baffled.... went on a longer drive back home and prayed for him to go to bed and be well! and he did!

this morning(thurs) bears doctors office called to follow up and pretty much they think he's ok and doesnt need to come in and he's NOT contagious!

Praise God!

i hope this NEVER happens again! oy!

just being a bear...

cousin tay and bear looooove each other, but they sure do fight like brother and sister! tay had a book that bear wanted. sharing is caring!!! look at tay's face- she was so mad! ha!

after story/music time at the library they put out crayons and coloring sheets. bear likes to color everything and everywhere! he can say crayons and color! =)

a few weeks ago was the church picnic. it's supposed to be fun, but when you have a bear that runs all over the place and no family (cousins were sick and no grandma & grandpa!) there it sure makes for a super exhausting picnic day.... we were all beat!

bear entertained himself with this bottle and some sticks for a few moments...

papa was able to play one game and partner up with riley in the water balloon toss...

bear got a free ride...

oh fun, fun, fun... how tiring you can be! =)

bears been learning how to feed himself... i'd let him do it more often, but it's sooooo messy!

a little park fun day...

saturday turned into a fun day!

we first all ventured out to get mama a new pair of running shoes under $40- and success! thank you Big 5 Sporting Goods!

then we chilled at home and the bear took a nice long uninteruppted nap(the last 2 days after an hour or less during his nap he would wake up wailing and would not go back to sleep to finish his usual 2-3hr long nap)

and since rossy and the girls are sick uncle jino couldnt go golfing with papa so......

we packed up our skates and headed to pantera park in db for some skate and slide time:

he liked that he could rock himself back and forth really fast. he came close to bonking his mouth and forehead several times on the bar he was holding...
mama rode down the hills on one skate while the papa rode with the bear...

the bear ventured through the playground equipment...

mama rode down the different slides with the bear. mama did not like the slides with the extra bump in the middle! and the bear couldnt slide on any of them by himself because of those bumps and stuff!

the bear wanted more of the blue whale!

someday soon we'll get bear his own toddler skate and helmet and stuff and then we could all bombs the hills together!

by the time we got back on the road the bear was hungry for some din-din so.... we picked up a naughty Mc D's cheeseburger and fries for the bear

then i cooked some pasta at home for the papa and me!

Surf Beach Day Fellowship #3

surf beach day fellowship #3 was great!

good beach time, time in the word and prayer, fellowship and food and good surf!
