this is hannah joy... aka bear's future wifey ;)

she turned 1 today

and we were happy to help celebrate her birthday!

the dessert table! her mama is a fantastic baker!

and my sis and i got to help with the signs, printables, cake pops, flower poms, etc! the toppers i made and the 3 different flavored cupcakes made from scratch by nicole!

my sis and i and some friends and fam threw a baby shower for our friend samantha!

it's their first- a boy- named Ethan!

March Memories!

it has been a busy month!

not sure why those pix uploaded really small but oh well-

tay had her 5th bday party at the chino youth museum! so much fun! and it was hello kitty themed!

here's bear in the ER on sat- smart mama for packing up some gooides really quickly- dvd, movies, etc!

and here's bear on tuesday at a follow-up appointment with his pediatrician! all better!

so, last week bear got a cold... an icky cold which flared up his asthma- that ONLY acts out when he gets sick. (thank goodness it's not asthma that happens on a daily basis!) anyhow, his asthma got started to get progressively worse from thursday nite, into friday and then by saturday it was no bueno. we gave him breathing treatments and called his pediatrician twice because bears breathing was very labored- not only was his chest pumping/working, but so was his stomach even after the breathing treatments! so the dr advised we take him to ER. He got in quick. they checked him out, gave meds, took vitals, checked oxygen, etc and eventually did xrays... which apparently showed bi-lateral pnemonia!

sooo after being in the ER since 2pm saturday we finally arrived by AMBULANCE to the hospital (a very nice one i might add- huntington memorial hospital in pasadena)! the dr and nurses ran more tests, checked vitals, looked over xrays again and concluded it was NOT bi-lateral pnemonia, but if anything very early stages of it. praise God! so they kept him overnite and we stayed too to monitor him. they told us if he didnt require oxygen all night then bear could go in the moring. no oxygen needed, just 4hr intervals of albuterol!

needless to say, it was a rough weekend into the week, but soooo glad all was ok and that the Lord was watching over us all =)

just being a bear

tonight we played hide-n-go-seek with bear!

we've played it before but it's been awhile.

bear had a blast- hiding and seeking.

he can count to 15 by himself!

correction bear can count to 20, but he skips 16 for some reason!

he's still not too sure of the whole concept of "hiding" without making lots of noise or giving himself away, but either way- it's cute!

he's been singing lots randomly...

he's been "matching" shapes and stuff....

and he's been doing lots and lots of pretend play

almost forgot- bear love his little "books"- you know how dvds come with that page inside? and also some of his toys like hot wheels and thomas come with little booklets?- well, he calls them his "books" and he can look through them for quite some time =)

and so much more.. oh to be a bear!

cheeseburger prayers

bears dinner tonight was none other than one of his faves:

when papa asked him to pray for his cheeseburger

bear closed his eyes, folded his hands and said

"father in heaven please bless this cheeseburger that i dont want to eat, in jesus name, amen!"

tony and i looked at each other and busted up laughing

sometime after bear we got bears jammies on him, papa and i were both in the kitchen and then bear started running around bustin up. he finally stopped at the kitchen and he had grabbed papa's socks and had put them on way up high. he thought it was so funny. he was laughing and running around!

oh ya... on a side note- bears been potty trained (pee) since i think the end of summer. but i havent been bold enough to potty train him as far as naps and nite time goes until NOW!

bear is officially off of diapers and it was pretty easy doing away with the diapers at nap time first, then night time, and him even going poopies in the potty! yay!

haircut!

a month or two ago the grandparents took bear to get a haircut at a kids place in san dimas

and today mama and papa took bear to Little Kuts for Kids in La Verne. we love these kids places. so many toys and they get to watch a movie while gettin a cut!

V*A*L*E*N*T*I*N*E*S day!

auntie's been taking bear with her to Ms. Lori's mommy n me class.... i really miss going to those but am so thankful that auntie takes bear with her and the girls (while our mom watches reagan)

and the friday before vday they had their class party. if you look closely you can see bear sitting in circle time looking at the camera/auntie....

i did send her bear with valentine cards w/ stickers to hand out =)

i made bear and papa a valentines cupcake. bear is THOROUGHLY enjoying it!

the frosting got on his chin and he said, "i got a beard just like papa!" then it got on his lips and he said "i have a mustache!"

mason remembered to get me some tulips, balloons (one is a heart and the other says "love rocks" and bear thinks they are his balloons) and some chocolate! i made these cupcakes, cupcake wrappers, toppers for 2nd and i passed out vday cards/candy for 4th =)
tonight we get to enjoy valetines dinner with the in-laws! mama mia is making some yummy new mexican-styled enchiladas! mmm mmm! =)

skates and kites!

after papa got home from the Men's breakfast from church we headed to the park

for a little skating.....

at our favorite local place to ride (pantera park!)

and we took bears new little $1 Cars kite with us.

after some more kite flying we skated around till we got to the playground.

we played for a bit, skated back to the car and grabbed a quick (and naughty) Mickey D's lunch.

bear was super hungry and scarfed down a plain cheeseburger and some fries and didnt take a drink till after!

yay for fun family days in the sun!

bear is napping and i think papa is about to too!

(fyi- bears been potty trained since the beginning of the school year, but i havent been bold enough to do the no diapers for naps and nite time... until this past thurs! he's been diaper free from naps! and poop has been in the potty!)

bible story bear

bears had a new bible for a few months its the "adventure bible storybook"

and it has great illustrations!

bears favorite has been david and goliath and in this bible its called "boy versus giant"

we'd read this story every moring and sometimes at nite too.

i finally asked bear to pick a different story

and he chose "food from heaven" which comes from exodus about the manna that fell from the sky/heaven

annnnnd look at the picture in the story

bear says its him "luke dean mason"

so glad he loves reading his bible!

he even has the stories practically memorized =)

drank it outta the bowl just like his papa!

also, in the middle of dinner bear got up outta his seat, stood up, stretched really big putting his hands way up and on his tip toes and said, "i'm trying to get bigger!"

he's been talking NON-stop lately

filled with lots of questions and even more curious than ever!

it's amazing what his little mind goes through and thinks and says- he's blows me away!

we went to disney sometime late last year and ever since then when he see anything with the disney castle like billlboards, signs, commercials etc- he remembers and says, "i want to go back to the dismee castle!" - soon bear, i hope!

im blessed to have a great part-time job, but it doesnt allow my mornings to be free

but im blessed that auntie is willing to tow a bear with her peyton (the crazy 2 years old together, that love each other tons!) to

lisa's shower

our friend lisa....

goes way back... we went to highschool together

then reconnected with her years later

and sis and i were honored to be in her wedding

and now

her and ralph are expecting Baby Jayden!

first my sis, then amanda then lisa and now samantha- preggers together kinda and we all went to the same girls bible study for awhile =)
