sickies!

here's bear in the ER on sat- smart mama for packing up some gooides really quickly- dvd, movies, etc!

and here's bear on tuesday at a follow-up appointment with his pediatrician! all better!

so, last week bear got a cold... an icky cold which flared up his asthma- that ONLY acts out when he gets sick. (thank goodness it's not asthma that happens on a daily basis!) anyhow, his asthma got started to get progressively worse from thursday nite, into friday and then by saturday it was no bueno. we gave him breathing treatments and called his pediatrician twice because bears breathing was very labored- not only was his chest pumping/working, but so was his stomach even after the breathing treatments! so the dr advised we take him to ER. He got in quick. they checked him out, gave meds, took vitals, checked oxygen, etc and eventually did xrays... which apparently showed bi-lateral pnemonia!

sooo after being in the ER since 2pm saturday we finally arrived by AMBULANCE to the hospital (a very nice one i might add- huntington memorial hospital in pasadena)! the dr and nurses ran more tests, checked vitals, looked over xrays again and concluded it was NOT bi-lateral pnemonia, but if anything very early stages of it. praise God! so they kept him overnite and we stayed too to monitor him. they told us if he didnt require oxygen all night then bear could go in the moring. no oxygen needed, just 4hr intervals of albuterol!

needless to say, it was a rough weekend into the week, but soooo glad all was ok and that the Lord was watching over us all =)
