This weekend was pretty busy. To start off- Friday we sadly missed out on my works Progrssive Dinner but we were able to get more Christmas shopping done! whew!
On Saturday I helped Rossy with her craft fair in La Habra all morning. It was cold as we all set up and sat outside. There were lots of fun little boutiques and crafts. It's too bad there wasn't much foot traffic though.
Then later on that evening Tony went with me and my band to the Riverside Juvenile Hall. My band- Project Worship- played for a Day 7 Harvest church outreach to the youth there. It was interesting. The stage was all set up for a a show/concert- with back drops, tv screens and their whole sound system and it was all for us! We were the only band playing that night for the kids. The kids came in and sat in their designate sections. There was a group of guys that had on light grey, a group of girls with pink and then the last group- they had on yellow and were shackled at the ankles and some at the wrists. Sadly, those guys are in for life. Once they get old enough they will transfer out to state prison. Anyhow, when the Day 7 crew comes out they lke to bring in a treat for the kids. That night they brought Krispy Kreme Donuts and milk! We played some of our songs and covered some Christan bands. We did alright for being out of practice! Then the Day 7 crew did a Q&A where many of the kids asked questions about right and wrond decisions and about their faith. My heart went out to them. Many of them had dedicated their lives many times to the Lord, but the don't "feel" it or see the change..... i wished we had more time to really minister to them, answer their questions and pray with them. Afterwards, another guys gave a short message and we were done. We were able to hlep pass out Bibles and shake their hands as they left..... What an experience...
The evening ended with us heading over to Daniel and Steph's Christmas party. We made it just in time for the White Elephant gift exchange! Tony and I ened up taking home a Shrek Chia Pet and Donald Trump cologne!
Sunday- church and more Christmas shopping! and now a new work week! One more week till we celebrate Jesus' birth!
